Operational level courses are designed to provide advanced training in weapons of mass destruction (WMD). Two 32-hour courses, Incident Response to Terrorist Bombing (IRTB) and Prevention and Response to Suicide Bombing Incidents (PRSBI), combine:

  • Classroom presentations
  • Field laboratories
  • Scenario-based exercises
  • Case studies

After completing the IRTB course, you will be able to identify:

  • Commercial and military explosives
  • Improvised explosive devices (IEDs)
  • Readily available explosive formulations that terrorists have or could use

After completing the PRSBI course, you will be able to develop:
  • Pre- and post-attack analysis and planning
  • Tactics, techniques, and procedures
  • Operational capabilities required to prevent, interdict, respond to, and mitigate the effects of a suicide bombing attack

These courses will provide:

  • The skills and knowledge to evaluate and respond effectively to WMD incidents involving explosives
  • A respect for the destructive power of explosive materials that terrorists could use
