Operational-Level Course Overview
Operational level courses are designed to provide advanced training in weapons of mass destruction (WMD). Two 32-hour courses,
Incident Response to Terrorist Bombing (IRTB) and
Prevention and Response to Suicide Bombing Incidents (PRSBI), combine:
- Classroom presentations
- Field laboratories
- Scenario-based exercises
- Case studies
After completing the IRTB course, you will be able to identify:
- Commercial and military explosives
- Improvised explosive devices (IEDs)
- Readily available explosive formulations that terrorists have or could use
After completing the PRSBI course, you will be able to develop:
- Pre- and post-attack analysis and planning
- Tactics, techniques, and procedures
- Operational capabilities required to prevent, interdict, respond to, and mitigate the effects of a suicide bombing attack
These courses will provide:
- The skills and knowledge to evaluate and respond effectively to WMD incidents involving explosives
- A respect for the destructive power of explosive materials that terrorists could use
